Companion to "The channel-switch test."
Run the whole test monthly, on the counting step of your weekly hour, not daily and not on feelings. This card rules on one channel at a time.
| Channel (warm network / outreach / which room) | |
| Months on the sheet | |
| Total attempts logged |
| Suspect | The check | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Volume | Did you hit the quota every week, or did the sheet record bursts and gaps? Intermittent outreach produces intermittent results; the fix is the calendar, not the channel | ☐ Quota hit ☐ Bursts and gaps |
| Follow-up | Are unanswered contacts getting their two or three nudges, or did every lead get one message and a funeral? Follow-ups are cheaper than new attempts, always | ☐ Nudges firing ☐ Single messages only |
| Specificity | Could your message have been sent to anyone? Then it worked on no one. Rewrite before you re-channel | ☐ Specific ☐ Generic, rewrite queued |
Customers per ten attempts says what the channel yields. Minutes per attempt says what it costs in the only currency a solo operator has. Reference shape from the lesson: warm about 1 per ten / low; outreach a fifth of one / medium; room too early / low.
| Channel | Customers per ten attempts | Minutes per attempt | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keep: channel survives; its weekly time stays | ☐ |
| Kill without ceremony: after the honest sample and the three fixes it still produces nothing; move its weekly time to the channel with the best customers-per-minute | ☐ |
| Edge check, false negative: killing during normal variance (one quiet week inside an otherwise working channel) | ☐ Ruled out |
| Edge check, false positive: one lucky hit read as a live channel (one customer is a data point; a rate is a pattern) | ☐ Ruled out |
The shiny new channel is almost never the answer. There will always be a platform, a tactic, a "weird trick" that others swear by. A new channel restarts your sample clock to zero and spends the consistency you already banked. Switch on the numbers, after the test, or keep your time where the sheet says it works.
