First-Visit Script Pack

1. Launch message (to the warm fifty)

"Hey, I've started a local handyman business: the small jobs contractors don't want, like faucets, drywall patching, ceiling fans, doors, and hanging things properly. If you've got a list of small stuff at your place, I'd love to quote it. And if you know someone drowning in a punch list, pointing them my way is the biggest help."

Personalize by one sentence per person. A warm fifty returns five to eight conversations and two or three booked jobs (field-reported planning range). Price the first jobs at full price; free labor for friends trains your market to wait for discounts.

2. Day-before confirmation text

Hi [Name], confirming tomorrow: I'll arrive between [window], for [job]. [One-line prep note: the dogs will be out; the faucet is in the box on the counter.] Reply if anything changed.

Confirmation texts cut no-shows dramatically; a no-show you prevented is the cheapest revenue you will ever protect.

3. Running-late text (send before you are late)

"Running about 25 minutes behind, the morning job ran long. New arrival is 1:30. Does that still work, or would tomorrow morning be better?"

4. Review ask (in the driveway, at the moment of satisfaction)

"Would you take thirty seconds to leave me a Google review? It's how my whole business gets found."

Send the review link by text while you stand there. The request lands in the ten minutes after the client sees the finished work, or it does not land at all. Never pay for reviews or discount for them.

5. Referrer introduction (agents, property managers, stagers, STR hosts)

"I do the small repairs that need to happen before photos or move-in: patch and paint, fixture swaps, door adjustments, punch lists. Same-week scheduling if the closing calendar is tight. If I can make your next listing walk-through easy, keep my number."

Ask satisfied clients which agent or manager they know, by name. One warm introduction from a happy homeowner outweighs a hundred cold emails to brokerages.

6. Price-pushback reply (said once, warmly)

"I understand, and I'm not the cheapest. What the price buys is me getting it done today and standing behind it if anything's off. If the budget's fixed, I can tell you which part of the list to tackle first."

7. First invoice nudge

"Quick reminder on invoice 14 from Tuesday, $275. Card link's here if that's easiest. Thanks!"

All of them short, unapologetic, relationship intact. The machine runs on small sentences sent promptly, not on heroic conversations.
