Start a Junk Removal Business

Phone & Outreach Script Pack

Companion to the lessons "First customers" and "Pricing jobs and the dump fee pass-through."

1. Booking call script

"Thanks for calling (business name), this is (you). What are we hauling? ... Got it. A couple photos help me quote it exactly, you can text them to this number. From what you're describing, that sounds like my half-load, three hundred fifty plus disposal at cost, and I could be there Thursday morning or Saturday. Which works better?"

Volume price, disposal pass-through, two time options. Answer the phone standing up; it shows in your voice. Speed-to-lead: reply inside fifteen minutes during work hours.

2. Driveway quote script

"So this is about half my trailer. That's my half-load rate, three hundred fifty. The mattress is thirty extra at the transfer station, so disposal is a separate line at forty, and with the two tires we're looking at four hundred forty total, and I can take it today or Thursday morning. The trailer gets swept before I leave. Want me to send that as a text so you have it in writing?"

Walk the pile, take photos, then quote. Pile bigger in person than the photos suggested: say so immediately and re-quote in the same breath.

3. Realtor / property-manager outreach message

Hi (name), I run a local junk removal outfit and I work with a few agents on pre-listing cleanouts. Garage empty, photos-ready, usually within 48 hours of the call. If you ever have a listing that needs clearing before photography, I'm the call that shows up. Can I send a one-page rate card?

Send ten a week. Two reply, one books, and in a season that agent feeds you steady work at zero cost; one active realtor can mean five to ten jobs a season.

4. Review-ask sequence

StepScript / action
1. At the door, after the sweep, before you leave"Would you mind leaving a Google review? It's how a small outfit like mine gets found."
2. One hour laterText the direct review link.

Ask in person while the clean garage is visible behind you; most say yes to a person and no to a text alone. Ten reviews in the first two months changes the phone's volume more than any ad spend.
