Build and Sell an Online Course

Presale Script Pack

Companion to the lessons "First students without an audience" and "The presale spine"

Field-tested shapes. Rewrite each in your own words until it sounds like you out loud; that is the only test. Send to the guest list one at a time, never a blast, fifteen messages a day.

1. Individual Outreach Message

Specific, and asks nothing but attention. Fill with a real detail you actually know about the person.

"Hi . I am running a free working session on , the exact mess . It is live on at , forty-five minutes, one worksheet, nothing sold before the last five minutes. Want the link? If the time is wrong I will send you the replay."

Source shape: month-end reporting workshop, the mess the contact inherited from the Denver books.

2. Workshop Invitation

Does not pretend to be something it is not.

"You are getting this because I have watched you fight this problem personally. Free session, real technique, you will leave with the fix applied to your own . At the end I will spend five minutes on a course I am building for people who want the full system, at a founding price for the first group. That part is optional."

3. Founding-Member Ask with Deadline

Sent two days before the window closes, to attendees who have not bought.

"You came to 's session, so you already know how I teach. The full course opens to founders at $ until night, then $ at public launch. Founders also get the live question sessions while the group is small. If the session solved ten percent of the problem, the course is the other ninety. Reply with any question at all, or grab a seat here."

Source prices: founders at $149 until Sunday night, $249 at public launch.

4. Refund-and-Thank Note (failed gate)

Built from the lesson's rule: zero to two founding members means the market spoke; refund every dollar with a short, warm note, and count the exercise as the cheapest market research you will ever buy.

"Hi , thank you for being one of the first to back this. The founding group did not reach the size I promised the build on, so I am refunding your $ in full today, and the course will not proceed as pitched. If I take another run at this topic I would be glad to have you hear about it first. Thank you for the trust."

Refunding a failed presale is not failure. Keeping money for a course you will not build is. Trust is the only asset in this business that cannot be repurchased.
